In March and April of 2005, Rob Imeson, the president of the Rare Beer Club, organized an epic tour through the mid-Atlantic states, a renowned beer region that Michael was particularly fond of. So Clarke Paschall, my audio tech, and I spent over a week driving from city to city, brewery to pub to brewery on a classic road trip with the Beerhunter himself. Here's a trailer of clips from that trip.
From 2004-2006 I traveled extensively with Michael Jackson, The Beer Hunter, filming and producing DVDs for the Rare Beer Club. From this footage and interviews with leading brewers and beer writers, I am producing a documentary about the story of his remarkable life and contributions to the world of beer and whiskey journalism. On the blog I'll be posting rare bits of video from each and every single tape, as well as updates on the film, stories of travel with the Beer Hunter, and beer hunting/whiskey chasing/life-enjoying endeavors in general. Ten percent of all proceeds from the film will be donated to the Parkinson's Foundation.
